The Thompson Homestead

Kelli

Hey there!

Long time not talk. Amiright? I know, it's my fault.

A lot has been going on here. Let's just say we've been busy making stuff happen in our lives.

Zach has been in harvest for the last few months, we rescued 10 puppies, kept one, we've been remodeling a house (oh the stress), and we bought a house and we're in the middle of moving.

Yes, we bought a house. It's a cute ranch style house in my hometown. We've decided to call it The Thompson Homestead. We aren't living off the land in the full sense of the term, "homestead" but it's our little slice of country.

Not only did we buy a house, we bought a house that needs UPDATES. Nothing dramatic, unless you count ripping the entire kitchen out and starting from scratch as dramatic. Then, yeah, a little drama.

Until the kitchen happens, we've been painting. Painting our butts off and I'm loving the way it's all coming together.

I'll do some before and after photos once we get a little further along, but for now, I wanted to do a quick (and very long awaited) update on our lives.

Moving back home has brought back so many memories as well as emotions. Not all good, but all of them learning experiences.

We've all got a past, present, and future, so even though I VOWED I'd never move back here after high school graduation, somehow God guided me (us) back and I've decided I'm letting Him take the reigns for this adventure.

Now, if you come to The Beauty and the Beard for the wedding posts, don't be too disappointed, I haven't left the wedding scene completely, I've just changed gears a bit; changing, adding, and enjoying the journey this blog and life takes me on.

I am no longer a bride, but a Matron of Honor. So expect a couple posts on being a bridesmaid, throwing a bachelorette party, and writing a speech. These tips can be translated into all areas of life such as being a friend, throwing an epic girls trip, and speaking publicly about something (or someone!) you love.

I look forward to sharing our journey with you all out here on the Thompson Homestead.

Much love,

K.
