Our Gender Neutral Nursery Design

Writer: KelliKelli

Hello!

I haven't done a proper baby post yet, so I figured I'd do one now. :)

We are in the very early stages of designing the nursery and before we even remotely got started, we wanted to keep the nursery gender neutral (even though we DO know what we're having), because we wanted to keep our options open in case we need to the room for another use later; i.e. big kid room, office, second kid, guest room, etc.

We also wanted to design the room as a mere extension of our home. We wanted the design of the room to be "us" and versatile.

With that in mind, we began researching (Pinterest-ing) and designing. Below is what I've put together as the design-board. Whether we go with exact items is unknown, but the overall design and feel helps keep us on track :)

Think of it as our "inspiration board."

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6* (similar here) | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12

There it is! We have already started by painting the accent wall in the exact color listed above, the rest of the room is a bright white :)

Sure there are plenty of other design elements that we will add to this, such as the fan, carpet, curtains, extra toys/shelving, etc. But, my hope was to give you guys an idea and inspiration for anyone else who might be in a similar phase of life.

Don't worry, as we get further along in the design, I'll be sure to post them on Instagram!

Xo.

*This photo is of the pot only. Our inspiration is of the greenery / fiddle leaf fig tree in the room.
