My Favorite Makeup Products

Writer: KelliKelli

Today I'm sharing my favorite makeup products.

Because I just KNOW you were dying to know. ;)

Even if you weren't, these are some of my favorite blog posts, I'm always trying new products, reading reviews, and trying to figure out what are the best products for ME.

Granted, what works for me may not work for you, but I hope these products can point you in the right direction!

Okay, on to the good stuff - the reason why you came to this post in the first place. :)

* I use this palette for EVERYTHING - eyeshadow, bronzer, contour, and it even has the perfect eyebrow powder color for me *

Obviously I don't use every product, but here's a quick rundown of what I do on a daily basis:

Step One: Apply a thin layer Revlon Colorstay Foundation, just enough to even my skin tone and cover any imperfections slightly. I use a revlon foundation brush, and SOMETIMES use a beauty blender, but not always - those things get tedious!

Step Two: Lightly conceal my under-eye area and any spots. I don't conceal them a lot though, I've started to accept that if my breakouts, marks, or dark circles show through, it's totally normal! :)

Also, that Shape Tape concealer goes A LONG way, don't pack this on. Typically I blend in with my ring finger.

Step Three: Set foundation with Glo Skin Pressed Powder using the Tarte Airbrush Finish Brush. This stuff has AMAZING staying power and is perfect for my combo/oily skin. It adds just enough coverage and is the PERFECT color for my skin tone which is a win-win.

Step Four: Lightly bronze my face with the Tarte Clay Play Palette OR the Bronzers in the Treasure Box. Just depends on the day. BEWARE these bronzers pack a punch and are super pigmented so LIGHTLY tap the bronzers with your brush. Trust me, it can get hard to blend if you're not careful :)

Step Five: Dust my cheeks with the blushes in the Treasure Box - I usually combine the two of them for the perfect color.

Step Six: Highlight using the highlight in the Treasure Box :) - this thing is seriously a treasure box haha

Step Seven: Shadow my eyes with whatever feels right - this could be the Clay Play Palette or the Treasure Box, it just depends

Step Eight: Mascara using either the Gifted or the Lights, Camera, Lashes :)

Step Nine: Fill in my browzy brows with the Clay Play Palette eyeshadow color called Smoke

Step Ten: Paint on your lips if desired! :) This lip product is awesome. It stays like a liquid lipstick/stain and dries matte, but isn't overly drying. If I ever feel like my lips are drying out, I just layer on some chapstick and call it good :)

I am NOT sponsored (HAHA!) by Tarte. I totally wish I was though lol. I really just love their products and Glo Skin Beauty. They're both cruelty free, vegan friendly and made with natural ingredients. They may not be the "cleanest" products out there, but I think it's a step in the right direction for me. I just need to find a good liquid foundation, time to go shopping again! ;)

I know that seemed like a ton of work. And I KNOW it seems like a ton of products. Trust me, I've tried palettes that look super tempting and easy. But sadly they didn't work for me. It sucked. I desperately wanted them to work, but it simply didn't mesh well with my skin type.

In all honesty, my makeup can take me anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Once I figured out what worked for my skin and the best way to apply it (for me), the process became easy.

Some days, I only wear mascara and don't fill in my brows, and some days, I like to get fully done-up and feel extra girly.

I think makeup gets a bad rap. I think people view it as a "mask" women (and some men) use to hide their features. It's all about having fun and using it to enhance your features. I love makeup, it's something I truly look forward to doing every morning. I feel more awake and productive the second I swipe on that mascara.

Okay, until next time. I hope you enjoyed my makeup rant and that some of these products point you in the right direction if you're feeling a little lost :)

XO.
